“In The Moment” Premier Exhibit Celebrates Curtain Up! Buffalo

(Character and environment in real life. Life is theatre)

Opening: 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, September 20, 2019

On Exhibit: Tuesday Through Saturday Evenings Through 0ctober 19

Who: Jack Hunter and Margo Davis, Actors/Directors/Educators/Habitat for Humanity Volunteers

Buffalo, New York – “IN THE MOMENT” is a photography exhibit of eighteen 11”x14” color images by actor/director/educators Jack Hunter and Margo Davis, depicting humorous, poignant, heartwarming relationships among characters and their environments. It opens Curtain Up Night, Friday, September 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Matinee, 698 Main Street, in the heart of the Theatre District. Matinee owners Rex Keppel and Kevin Shanahan will host the premiere event.

Davis and Hunter share works from their individual international travels and their observations of the human condition, the relationship between character and environment and celebration of being in the moment. This collaboration is the result of their first travels together and realization that independently, over the years, they have been tracking the same themes. Theatre is life. Davis and Hunter recently returned from Bucharest, Romania where they volunteered in a Habitat for Humanity project. In January, they will do this again in Puerto Rico.

“IN THE MOMENT” continues through October 19, Tuesday through Saturday evenings. A portion of photo sales will be donated to youth programs at CEPA Gallery (Contemporary Photography And Visual Arts Center). Many thanks to CEPA for its generous assistance.

About Matinee

“Smooth jazz plays over an early 20th century black-and-white movie, now public domain. A couple at the bar sips craft beer out of cuvee glasses and chat about Wes Anderson’s new film “Isle of Dogs.” A group of 20-somethings relax while sharing a bottle of wine in the front area. Filled with big comfy chairs and couches and antiques, it feels like your wealthy grandparent’s living room.”

Very cute place. Some theater history. Love to go here after a show to wait for traffic to clear from the parking lots. They always remember us and what we drink.

Easily my favorite dudes in the Buffalo community. Their expertise in knowledge of craft beers is nothing short of astounding. They also know how to party.

Strongly recommend. Went before a show and it was awesome. Hope that Kevin or Rex are there. They are the best. Great selection of drinks. Very good atmosphere.

Fantastic! You walk in and are immediately welcomed -- not only by the cozy decor, but by the owners. Huge beer selection. And they know their stuff! So glad it's right across the street from where I work! Fantastic!

One of the best beer selections out there! Great atmosphere too!
